10 March 2025. – As part of the commemorative activities for International Women's Day, the Human Rights Registry, Gender Equality and Citizen Participation of the Honorable City Council of Huajuapan de León, held the conversation called “Mixtec Women who Inspire”.
This event took place in the auditorium of the Technological University of Mixteca on 07 March and was aimed at the student population of the highest house of studies of Huajuapan, mainly to young university students, with the purpose of generating in them a source of inspiration that helps them break with the “glass ceiling”, that is to say, of the barriers of machismo that still exist in many communities of the Mixteca region and in sectors of Huajapeña society. This was stated by councilor María de Jesús Sánchez Maceda, Who was the moderator of this conversation?.
Among the invited panelists were the Military Nurse and Second Captain, Xóchilt Velázquez Sánchez; Doctor Norma Francena Santos Sánchez; the pioneering doctor in health research, Elia Reyes Burgoa, as well as the restorer of Sacred Art Diana Roque.
The prominent communicators Lesli Aline Aguilar López and Yasohara Aguilar Barbosa also participated., like the famous Opera singer Paty Trujano who from Vienna, Austria was participating via video.

Mixtec Women who Inspire: a dialogue about challenges and empowerment
Huajuapan de León. In the framework of International Women's Day, the Human Rights Registry, Gender Equality and Citizen Participation held the event “Dialogue: Mixtec Women who Inspire”, made this 07 March in the auditorium of the Technological University of Mixteca (UTM). Councilor María de Jesús Sánchez Maceda convened outstanding Mixtec women from various fields to share their experiences and reflect on the challenges and achievements in their professional path.
The guests, among them the Captain 2nd Nurse Xochilt Velázquez Sánchez: MILITARY field, Dr.. Norma Francena Santos Sánchez: EDUCATION field, Dr.. Rosa Elia Reyes Burgoa: HEALTH area, Diana Roque: ART/CULTURE area, the Lic. Edith Yolanda López Velasco: POLITICS area, Opera Singer Patricia Trujano Granados: ART/CULTURE area, the Mtra. Leslie Aline Aguilar López: field TRADITIONAL MEDIA AND Mtra.
