HUAJUAPAN DE LEÓN, Oaxaca. (sucedióenoaxaca.com).- The singing of Patricia Trujano Granados was heard in the masses of the cathedral of this city since she was five years old.. This Monday 29 from December, that girl returns converted into an opera singer to offer a concert that she called “A song for Peace”.

Together with his seven brothers and under the direction of his father, Patricia Trujano was part of the “Maranatha” group dedicated to religious singing, with which he recorded some albums.

Determined to dedicate herself professionally to music, He learned to play the piano and guitar. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in the city of Oaxaca., and then he enrolled in the National Conservatory of Music.

After graduating with a degree in Opera and Concert, The singer decided to find the scope of her voice and went to Vienna, the capital of classical music, to study musicology and perfect their vocal technique.

This winter, Patricia Trujano returns to the place where she sang her first songs, the Cathedral of Huajuapan, has become a solid soprano who has already started a promising career in Europe.

-What is a typical day in your life like in Vienna??

We singers sleep a lot, That's why I go to sleep early and get up at eight in the morning., breakfast, I vocalize fifteen minutes,  I'm going to German classes, I vocalize again, and afternoon, now that it's winter and it gets dark at three in the afternoon, I go to the opera. In Vienna there is opera and theater every day.

I also have essays. I am part of the group “Mexican Divas” and with them I rehearse musically and theatrically.. At night, study.

It is clear to me that I must make many sacrifices. I hardly go out dancing, I don't drink alcohol and cigarettes are not in my life because I can't neglect my voice.. Maybe it seems to you that I lead a very boring life.

-What is the contrast you see between Mexico and Austria?

-There, not Vienna, children from kindergarten have musical education, and the children, although they are not musicians, play two or three instruments.. Almost all people know music. That's why when they go to a concert, instead of manual programs, they sometimes give them sheets of sheet music.. Vienna is the capital of classical music.

-In Mexico before, at least we knew Strauss' waltzes because quinceañeras danced them; now not even that....

-Before, for example, the Blue Danube waltz was danced.. By the way, one day I went to see the Danube, a river that runs through ten cities and, oh disappointment, it is not blue. And and and.

At the concert I am not going to perform Mexican songs; I like to sing music from Mexico there, and here I prefer to show the music from there.

At the Imperial Palace in Vienna, where is the Plume of Moctezuma, I have sung, For example, the Mixtec Song, and one day an African musician told me that he liked it a lot because he too had left his sunny country and Vienna, very close to the Alps, it's cold and rainy.

-What are we going to hear at the concert A song for peace?

-Some Strauss waltzes, arias from the opera Rigoleto, mazurkas, operetta, zarzuela and some Christmas carols. I will also perform “The Prayer” accompanied by tenor Benjamín Rodríguez, a song made famous by Andrea Boccelli and Celline Dione.

-Is there an audience for this type of music?

The concert does not have a cost because we see that there are many people who pay to go listen to the Banda Limón, For example, but it doesn't pay for a classical music concert. We will be requesting a voluntary donation because the concert was organized by civil society.

The concert A Song for Peace arises at this time that we live in the country where anti-values and consumerism abound, giving us daily commercial music and rhythms that even promote violent actions..

In addition to the above, the lack of interest of governments in promoting opera and classical music that promote moral values is shown., civic and social in order to build a more dignified and elevated society.

scientifically speaking, It can be said that when listening to classical music our violent nature calms down and brings us closer to a consciousness that makes us more human., and even heals those who listen to it physically and spiritually..

-Does the concert also have something to do with the Ayotzinapa issue??

-Although I am far from my country, I am aware of everything that is happening in Mexico and I stand in solidarity with the families of the victims of violence in Guerrero and throughout the country., not only of the 43 disappeared from the Ayotzinapa normal.

But it is also important to reflect on the loss of values within the family, which results in an increase in crime and lack of respect for life and human dignity..

I must say that I arrived with fear in my country because the insecurity is notorious., contrary to what happens in Vienna, a very safe city where one can walk at three in the morning.

But I always have in mind the hope of returning to my homeland to share my learning both in Mexico and in Europe., and so, motivate children and young people with my art to guide their dreams and hopes of personal fulfillment.

The concert “A song for peace”, organized with the support of businessmen, friends and sponsors of Huajuapan, will feature the participation of the Strauss Symphony Orchestra, the tenor Benjamín Rodríguez, the violinist Omar Acevedo, the pianist Manuel Casas, drummer José Luis Trujano Granados and guitarist Abelardo Cordero, also originating from Huajuapan de León.

The appointment is this Monday 29 December at 19:30 hours inside the Huajuapan Cathedral.
